  Always amazing treats. Huge thanks to the young kid Max (not *Max Brenner) for his awesome service in smile in Surfers Paradise. Really made us feel welcomed and explained about the menu to us even tho it's his first few weeks. Great job team. See y'all again soon

  I'd like to echo another review on here. Arriving on a Saturday afternoon when the restaurant was less than half full, and obviously had not had a mad rush based on the atmosphere and stages of dining people were at within the place. The first observation was that there were over 10 tables that had not been cleared or cleaned in the place. As you can see from my photos, some of the tables had dishes piled on them from multiple parties of people based on the fact that the amount of dishes wouldn't fit ordinarily in the space. This meant that others had to do what my husband and I did - clear our own table and wipe it down with a cloth we asked for just to sit down. It's amazing that a month after a similar review noting the lack of cleanliness was left, nothing has changed. Whoever is in charge of this place and manages it clearly doesn't care about food and beverage hygiene standards, or holding their staff accountable. I observed staff members who saw the dirty tables and continuously walked past them, and other people who walked into the place and straight back out again after observing the state of the tables. In a time when COVID-19 is still circulating, I see no need to add more food hygiene issues! Hoping staff get it together soon. So disappointing.

  Max Brenner is great with some great desserts but wow the staff really don’t care about working here at all.
  
  So much mess everywhere. We ordered our food and then cleaned our own table so we could sit down somewhere. The restaurant was so quiet but no staff did any cleaning. It was really disgusting.

  Everytime we visit Surfer Paradise, a chocolate bar is a must stop. Everything tastes very good. The order might take a minute sometimes depending on the time and crowd at the time. We love this joint but the table tops are always "sticky" like its not been cleaned. May be switch to a glass table top and have them cleaned properly.

  If there were zero stars they would not have gotten one star. Good Friday just after lunch, the place was about a quarter or a third full, and none of the empty tables had been cleared, all piled with plates and leftovers. 4 staff - more than enough in my opinion yet none seemed to have a clue about what they were doing. Counter staff were slow to take the order and after suggesting I "move out of the way" to assist another customer then advised my order would take 15 mins (word choice is important). They eventually took 35 minutes to get my order wrong and after another 15 minute wait I simply requested a refund and left. Some random woman was clearing tables but still not making much of a difference and customers were simply leaving after being advised that a hot chocolate would take half an hour. Awful, awful service and had the temerity to charge a surcharge. So many reviews for the same things, orders taking unacceptably long, mistakes in orders, tables and generally dirty and scruffy, staff lack training and couldn't care less anyway. MB response always the same "very sorry", "not the standards we expect", "we hope you'll give us another chance" yet the same reviews just go on and on. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. And the prices.. oh dear lord. Just avoid.
